Why, When, How it Started?
  • Need for Colorectal and Prostate Cancer Awareness
    and screening (NJ has high prostate and
    colorectal incidence rate)
  • NJ Legislature appropriated 2.7 million for
    cancer awareness and screening (breast, cervical,
    prostate and colorectal)
  • 1999-2000 NJCEED inquired about software
    development.
  • Developed the program internally with advice from
    Lead Agencies and Medical Advisory Committee of
    the NJCEED Statewide Coalition.
  • Colorectal and Prostate forms were patterned
    after Breast and Cervical forms developed for
    CaST.

  • System Beta-test October 2000 (5 programs were
    involved)
  • Modifications in December 2000
  • Final program released March 2001
  • Upgrade and update to PCS 2000 in September 2003
