years old at time of enrollment - Maximum follow up of 10 years
- 61,317 deaths (42,173 men and 19,144 women)
- 186,000 men and women had never smoked, were
middle-aged, and did not have coronary artery
disease - 20 to 40 higher risk of death in overweight
healthy middle-aged individuals who had never
smoked - 2 to 3 times greater risk of death in healthy
obese middle-aged individuals who had never smoked
