What Is Oceana?

• Oceana is the first underwater resort chain in
  history. First designed in San Diego as a
  research facility, Oceana has developed into four
  separate locations. Each room is fully equipped
  with electrical appliances and yes, gourmet food.
  Also look out your window and be amazed!

How Does Oceana Work?

• To reach our luxurious hotel, you must dive
  almost to the ocean floor! Although this dive is
  entirely safe, you must obtain a diving license.
  For your convenience, we offer a course for those
  without certification!

• San Diego, CA!
• This is our first location, set up here to be
  close to Scripps Institute of Technology. The
  first thing you will notice is its shark theme,
  mainly from the architecture...

ADAPTATIONS...

• To keep warm
• Mammals needed to find a way to stay warm in the
  icy depths.
• Vasodilation-blood flows toward flukes/flippers
• Blubber-provides both warmth and buoyancy

In Addition...

• Mammals such as dolphins and whales need to find
  efficient ways of breathing, so they have
  blowholes on the top of their heads to quickly
  take a breath. While under water, their
  heartbeats slow and their blood is directed to
  where it is needed most, the heart and brain.

• The top layer of the ocean is subject to change
