2- 1. Background
- In spite of the grown use of vehicle dynamics
software, the real effects of the chassis
kinematic can only be verified in real
road-testing. Especially the combination of the
adjustment of different parameters as well as the
development of useful stepwidths during the
chassis setup-process on series cars are only
possible by time- and cost-intensive
manufacturing of prototype parts. - UNIKAT Universal Chassis

- Development of a vehicle with adjustable masses
and kinematic. - Maximum of variability of all vehicles
attributes relevant to vehicle-dynamics and
comfort. - Variabilities should be adjustable while driving
or by a minimum of complexity.
4 3. Realization The Unikat was developed and
manufactured by the ATP Automotive Testing
Papenburg GmbH. Under an ATP-Projectmanagement
most of the constructive work was performed by
students of the Universities of Applied Science
in Osnabrück and Hamburg.
53. Realization All constructions were made
in-house. Most all parts were fabricated in the
ATP-workshops.
