It may vary from project to project and depends
on size, deadlines and quality demands. So well

Before a project starts the PM defines its
workflow, generates project specificinstructions
and prepares a schedule. Possible bottlenecks and
quality check pointsare defined as well.

Then it is necessary to create a project glossary
and term base if they are not provided.

8Terminology Management
Further terminology questions may arise during
the translation. The PM answers questions that
could be resolved by in-house professionals
(Translation Department) and sends the rest to
the client. QA form with all questions answered
is providedto all translators involved in the
project.

9Terminology Management
As soon as a project or its part is ready for
review the PM creates an updated Termbase and
common QA form. These are sent to all
specialists involved in review and checking.

10Translation Quality Assurance first step
The first step of a translation quality assurance
is to check the translation for
- Missing translation
- Consistency
- Adherence to a glossary
- File integrity
- Country standards
QA Department checks the translation both
manually and with special QA tools, and then
creates a report which is sent to the translators
for correction of mistakes found.

11Translation review
Now it is time to edit the translation. We may
use either an in-house editor from our
Translation department, or a freelance one. It
depends on the subject field and our workload.
Editor checks the translation for
- Overall translation quality
- Grammar
- Spelling
- Punctuation
- Terminology
Corrected translation is sent to a proofreader
(if this step is scheduled in the project
workflow). Also the editor creates a report for
translators that lists a typical mistakes and
editors recommendations.

12Translation proofreading
If translation of a high quality is required then
edited translation is passed to a proofreader.
Proofreader is an in-house specialist who is
responsible for
- Language Style
- Formatting
This step eliminates stylistic mistakes and makes
the text more readable. Ideally, the translated
text at the end of this stage should look like it
is written by native speaker of the target
language.

13Translation Quality Assurance second step
The second step of the translation quality
assurance process is the final stage before
delivery. Our Linguistic Expert evaluates each
project (or a part of the project)and creates an
internal QA report that is sent to all
specialists who participatedin a project. Basing
on this report the PM decides if this project may
be deliveredto the client or there are any
further actions required to improve the quality
of translation.

Guide Terminology
Based on the LISA QA Model 3.0 we define the
following Severity Levels Minor Error Error in
translation or grammar that does not impact
meaning (1 point weight).Major Error Error in
translation or grammar that impacts meaning. This
can also be any error on Cover, TOC, and other
easily detectable and therefore important places
(3 points weight). Critical Error Meaning of
the entire document is compromised. Errors that
can cause damage to equipment or users injury
(10 points weight).
