Summative Group Presentation

• Presentation on Proposed Web Site
• Delivered in seminar in Week 8 (W/b 14th November
  2005)
• 5 of your overall assessment.

Group work requirements

• To create a presentation explaining the design of
  your proposed web site.
• It will have an introduction
• Main part will describe the groups decisions on
  design for example
• The proposed layout of the web pages
• What colour background you will use
• Type, size and colour of text
• Images where they will be placed
• Other features of your design
• Summary

• Each group member take part in the presentation
• Contribution made by each group member will be
  explained.
• This presentation about design and why you made
  particular decisions.

• Justify your decisions from research
• eg Colour tolerance/intolerance
• Human Computer Interaction
• Cite references within the presentation then
  include reference list in Harvard style at end of
  presentation. (see web page for details)

Assessment Criteria (sample)

• To achieve an overall grade A, all criteria
  should be met at grade A.
• To achieve grade B, all criteria must be met at
  least at grade B.
• To achieve grade C, most criteria must be met
  above grade D.
• To achieve grade D, a few of the criteria must be
  met above grade E.
• To achieve grade E, all criteria must be met at
  least at grade E.
• Any element not met results in F.
• Non-attendance (unless agreed with module leader)
  results in F.

Individual Diary and Reflection on Groupwork

• This assignment contributes 10 to your overall
  assessment on this module.
• 50 of the mark will be awarded for the Diary and
  minutes.
• 50 of the mark will be awarded for the
  Reflection

Your Task

• Maintain an individual diary of your groupwork
  meetings.
• Appoint a chairperson to ensure that members know
  the time and venue of each meeting.
• Minutes of each meeting will be recorded and
  signed by all group members.
• This task will rotate to a different group member
  at each meeting.
• Your final submission will contain a copy of the
  minutes of each meeting, signed by all group
  members

Diary

• In your diary you will record the following
• Group members and their role within the group.
• Contribution of each group member to the group
  work.
• Your own contribution to the work.

Reflection (300 words)

• Reflection explaining the purpose of the diary.
• Discuss own, and each members contribution to
  teamwork.
• Demonstrate critical analysis of the process.
• A reasoned conclusion based on your own
  reflections
• Written in good English throughout.

Final Submission

• Final submission will consist of your diary,
  minutes of each meeting, signed by all member of
  the group. (Photocopy of minutes will suffice)
• Reflection

Web Page Assignment

• Submit the web site, individual storyboard and
  navigation chart
• Deanery Office, FML 202, Wednesday, 14th December
  2005, 3.00pm
• Contributes 10 to your overall assessment.

Your Task

• Each group member will create their own web site
  according to the design described in the
  summative presentation
• Each web site will be 4 or 5 pages
• Tutor will assign topic
• Partition aspects of the topic so that each
  member of the group works on a different aspect.

• You can create a research resource for the whole
  group if you wish.
• Individual Submission will include your
  individual web site, storyboard of home page and
  navigation chart of your individual site.

• Read the Agreed Policy on Groupwork
• Provides brief details of agenda and minute
  taking
• Each group sign the Partnership contract
• Give contract to tutor after Reading Week.
