The FFA Creed
  • The FFA Creed was written by E.M. Tiffany and
    adopted at the 3rd National FFA Convention. It
    was revised at the 38th and 63rd conventions. The
    creed contains five paragraphs.

FFA Colors
  • The FFA Colors are national blue and corn gold
    representing the blue field of our nations flag
    and the golden fields of ripened corn that unify
    our country.

The FFA Salute
  • To properly conduct the salute, face the United
    States flag, place the right hand over the left
    part of the chest, and holding it there say the
    U.S. Pledge of Allegiance.
  • You should not pause following the word Nation.
  • The Pledge should be used at official closing
    ceremonies for all meetings and other FFA
    gatherings.

FFA Official Dress
  • There are 12 rules for the proper use of the FFA
    jacket
  • The jacket is to be worn only by members
  • The back of the jacket should have only a large
    official FFA emblem, the name of the state
    association and the name of the local chapter,
    region, district or area. The front of the jacket
    should have only a small official FFA official
    emblem, the name of the individual, one office or
    honor an the year of that office or honor.
  • The jacket should be worn on official occasions
    with the zipper fastened to the top. The collar
    should be turned down and the cuffs buttoned.

FFA Official Dress
  • The jacket should be worn by members and officers
    on all official FFA occasions, as well as other
    occasions where the chapter or state association
    is represented. It may be worn to school and
    other appropriate places.
  • The jacket should only be worn to places that are
    appropriate for members to visit.
  • School letters and insignia of other
    organizations should not be attached to or worn
    on the jacket.
  • The emblems an lettering should be removed if the
    jacket is given or sold to a non-member.
  • Members should refrain from us of tobacco
  • No more than 3 medals should be worn on the
    jacket. These should represent 1) the highest
    degree earned, 2) the highest office held and 3)
    the highest award earned by the member.

Code of Ethics
  • FFA members conduct themselves at all times to be
    a credit to their organization, chapter, school,
    community and family.
  • It was adopted by the delegates at the 1952
    National FFA Convention and was revised by the
    delegates at the 1995 National FFA Convention.

Levels of Membership
  • In addition to active membership, individuals can
    become members in three other categories.
  • Honorary
  • Alumni
  • Collegiate
  • A member may retain active membership until
    November 30 following his or her fourth national
    FFA convention after graduation from high school.

FFA Degrees
  • The Discovery FFA Degree, the Greenhand FFA
    Degree and the Chapter FFA Degree are awarded at
    the chapter level.
  • The highest degree, the American FFA Degree, is
    conferred upon an elite group of members at the
    national level.

FFA Degrees
  • Discovery FFA Degree
  • Must be a dues-paying member of the FFA at local,
    state and national levels.
  • Greenhand FFA Degree
  • Be enrolled in agricultural education and have
    satisfactory plans for a supervised agricultural
    experience program
  • Chapter FFA Degree
  • Must have satisfactorily completed the equivalent
    of at least 180 hours of systematic school
    instruction in agricultural education at or above
    the ninth grade level

  • State FFA Degree
  • Must have earned and productively invested at
    least 1,000 or worked at least 300 hours in
    excess of scheduled class time, or a combination
    thereof, in a supervised agricultural experience
    program
  • American FFA Degree
  • Must have graduated from high school at least 12
    months prior to the national convention at which
    the degree is to be granted
