    in Europe to go abroad for learning, studying,
    volunteering or work experiences??
  • Beyond Erasmus creating opportunities for all
    young people aged around 16-35 years
  • Organised learning mobility in all contexts, also
    across different sectors

  • Good for individuals Strengthens employability
    and personal development, broadens horizons
  • Good for schools, universities, training
    institutions helps them update their programmes
    and become more European/more international
  • Good for Europes economies and society at large
    enhances Europe's competitiveness by upgrading
    skills, helps combat isolationism and xenophobia

Why this Green Paper?
  • November 2008 Council calls for learning
    mobility to become an opportunity for all young
    people
  • April 2009, Bologna Ministerial mobility target
    of 20 by 2020 for students in higher education
  • Need for a new European partnership for learning
    mobility
  • Green Paper to open up a Europe-wide debate on a
    strategy to achieve these objectives

  • Responses by interested parties via mail or to

  • Online multiple-choice questionnaire, tailored to
    the wider public http//ec.europa.eu/dgs/educatio

  • Consultation open until 15 December 2009 in
    2010 the Commission will provide proposals for
    follow-up
