Oven/support structure

• New oven being tested on temporary structures
• Successfully heated up to 240 degree C
• One of the support parts got burnt
• New piece being made in machine shop
• New support structure ( air inlet/outlet pipe)
  shortly
• Concern about the present oven weight
• A completely new oven with lighter material being
  given a thought

Laser

• 6 single FAPs and 2 duo FAPs
• All tested/recalibrated
• One to be sent for repair
• GOOD NEWS
• Coherent decided to resume production
• 3 new FAPs being ordered

Optics

• All 75 m (10 new/6 old) fiber tested
• All good/ready to be installed in the Hall
• 5 to 1 combiners( 3)arriving shortly
• Gaussian Beam Parameters (GBP) measured
• GBP s are beam waist,beam waist position
  and the divergence
• essential inputs for our simulation to
  have the effective pumping!!!!
• Simulation for the three optics lines being done
• Almost all components for optics lines identified
• Components to be ordered shortly

He-3 Cell Update

• 8 cells filled (4 _at_ WM and 4 _at_ UVA)
• From UVA
• Antoinette,Samantha,Stephanie,Boris
• 3 of them ---3 inch
• Density 7.5 amg (He-3)
• Alkali mix ratio gt KRb51
• 90 Torr/0.11 amg Nitrogen

• New pick up coils/stands ready
• All software ( new/modified codes) waiting to be
  tested
• Density measurements being done on one new cell
  from WM
• BB field mapping to be done before BB moves to
  HALL C
• New Vertical coils are here
• Support structure installed in the new target
  lab.
• Alignment / mapping to be done shortly

Compass from UKY (Wolfgang et al.)

• After a lot of struggle , the vertical compass
  now made to work
• Turns out to be extremely difficult project
• Resolution verified to be 0.09 degrees
• Plan to achieve 0.05 degrees
• Calibration to be done shortly, waiting on a
  component from the machine shop
• Customization to be done when it arrives _at_ Jlab.

so called PLANS

• Clean the lab..start laser alignment.depending
  upon the oven and support structures,few more
  tests on the oven.start pumping.the polarimetry
  tests follow
• Density measurements to be carried on as new
  cells arrive on regular basis
• Even though due to the oven structure issues we
  are 3 weeks behind our schedule, we plan to
  finish up all the required tests etc. by
  Oct./Nov. to meet the Jan 1st deadline
