The Idea

• Build a box that is the digital version of the
  etch a sketch and can also upload and download
  drawings
• The idea was inspired by Ray Johnson
• Used the postal system with a network of artists
  and poets known as the New York Correspondence
  School

• Midi messages will be sent to jitter from the PIC
• In Max/MSP/Jitter
• Receive Midi data
• Vertical and Horizontal etching
• Get midi data from turning the pot
• Turning the left knob controls horizontal motion
• Turning the right knob controls vertical motion
• Turning both will allow you to draw a diagonal

• Upload and Download
• Using the jit.uldl object I can upload and
  download content to an FTP server
• 2 buttons will be used to send a bang to the
  object to perform an upload and a download

Problems Encountered

• I had Ghosts In My Machine which were difficult
  to diagnose for some time.
• By the time I figured them out it was only enough
  time to build what was essential to get the box
  up and running
• The problems stemmed from my breadboard, which
  had connections underneath it that touched
  causing shorts

Some Solutions

• Instead of having the upload and download
  buttons, I had a reset button
• I would like to keep working on this and add the
  upload download capabilities
• I would also like to connect a nintendo
  controller and control some of the openGL
  capabilities within jitter
