  • Prestige recognition, respect, and admiration
    attached to social positions.
  • Prestige is defined by your culture and society.
  • Has to be voluntarily given not claimed.
  • Americans value wealth and power, therefore,
    occupations that gain wealth are assigned more
    prestige.
