17What are the program requirements?
- Teach or perform teaching assistant duties up to
20 hours per week in your language - Take two academic courses per semester or one per
quarter - Submit surveys/reports to IIE in a timely fashion
- Inform us immediately if you are having
difficulty meeting program requirements - Return to home country upon completion
- Comply with J-2 Policy
18Additional Work Stipulations
- Related to teaching of language and culture
- Does not exceed 20 hr. limit
- Does not increase income more than an incidental
amount - (possible decrease in Fulbright stipend amount)

the U.S. before the exchange visitor is eligible
to apply for - a nonimmigrant H visa as a temporary worker or
trainee, or - nonimmigrant L visa as an intra company
