7Top 10 Reasons Applications Lose Points
- Lack of documentation
- Documented events, programs, and/or items do not
meet the criteria - Double dipping
- Confusing Leadership Training with Strategic
Planning - Not knowing the difference between the media
pieces
8Top 10 Reasons Applications Lose Points (contd)
- Documentation outside of the current awards time
frame or not dated at all - Information submitted does not match NAHU's
official records - Chapter sponsoring the event is not the same as
the chapter submitting the award application - Website Award - links not working or information
is not in the correct location - Taking credit for more events then were documented
9Organization is Key
- Title the documentation with the section and
criteria that it corresponds to i.e. Section 1,
1 - Complete the scoring information.
- Make sure the notebook or vehicle you are
submitting your application in is big enough to
hold all the content.
10Documentation
- The Awards Guidebook is your best friend.
- Your regional awards chair is your other best
friend. - Not sure, check the guidebook.
- Still not sure, contact your regional awards
chair.
11How to document events
- Board Minutes
- Flyer or Registration Form showing the
date, location, who is sponsoring the event and
meeting content - Signed contracts showing date and location of the
event - Confirmation e-mails or letters
12Being organized with your documentation
- Keep it simple.
- One comprehensive piece of documentation is
better than multiple pieces. - Highlight ALL pertinent information.
- Keep the documentation with the right section.
- Using the same documentation? Make copies and
place each copy with the correct section.
