What is a READ ALOUD?

• A read aloud is when a teacher presents a book to
  an audience.
• The reader gives the audience a brief history of
  the book reviewing the title, author,
  illustrator, and main characters.
• The reader reads with expression and emotion.
• Questions are often asked such as What do you
  think will happen next or Why do you think that
  happened.
• The audience is encouraged to participate during
  discussions pertaining to the story.
• The book should be appropriate and of interest
  for the age and grade levels of the students.
