Title: Catholic Education Week
1Catholic Education Week
2School Spirit
Philip Pococks students, for Catholic Education
week, were asked to make posters describing what
catholic education means to them.
3School Spirit
This poster reads, Catholic Education is our
work at the Good Shepard Centre in Toronto. The
students at Philip Pocock take part in retreats
dealing with Catholic Education, whether it be to
help the less fortunate or expand our
understanding of what it means to be a Catholic.
4Tuesday May 2, 2006, the grade 12s attended an
assembly for Catholic Education Week. The
presentation talked about many subjects that we
teenagers go through in our lives. We are able to
go to our faith and Jesus to help us with our
problems.
5School Chapel
Philip Pococks Chapel is open all day to
students and teachers. Here we are able to
reflect and pray. This is a great way to take
time out of our busy schedule and pray to our
Lord.
6Whats Catholic Education Week?
Hey! Did you hear about Catholic Education Week?
7What is Catholic Education Week?
- Catholic education always aims at forming
students in the Catholic virtues that give life
true meaning and joy. Catholic education makes a
difference not only to the lives of our students,
but also to our communities, our province and our
country.
8Catholic Education Week
"Of the educational programs available to the
Catholic community, Catholic schools afford the
fullest and best opportunity to realize the
threefold purpose of Christian education among
children and young people."
9Finishing Prayer
Gracious and Loving God,On this day, World
Catholic Education Day, we take time to thank you
for the gift of Catholic Education. We are
grateful that we can come together to learn about
you and to celebrate our faith. May we show our
gratefulness by taking time everyday to praise
and thank you. May each day we spend at Philip
Pocock help us to grow in our love for you and
for one another. And may we spread this love
beyond the walls of our school so that your good
news might be shared through our words and
actions with every person that we meet. We make
our prayer in the name of your Son, Jesus, Amen.
