According to the Victorian Stations website, the
most popular style of architecture during the
Victorian period is what is called the Greek
Revival. The Victorian period is the time period
during 1825-1900. Below demonstrates the Greek
revival style that was popular up until around
1840.

Western US Victorian Architecture
Probably the most prominent place to find
Victorian architecture in the West is San
Francisco, CA. Here homes are noted for their
fancy and sometimes fancy colors and for their
alcoves.

Americans turned to Greek Architecture for
inspiration.

Classic revival architecture came into existence.
This incorporated the Greek architecture with
some of the features of Roman architecture.

the 400th anniversery of Columbus discovery of
america, Neoclassical architecture spread across
