favourites Wolves and the underdogs Pompey

Portsmouths captain Eddie Barlow receives the
trophy from King George V1. Portsmouth then held
the cup for SEVEN years.

After the war Portsmouth were the top side in the
country. They won the Division 1 Championship in
two successive seasons

The Redknapp era
After spending 20 years in the old Division 2 (
now the Championship) Harry Redknapp was
appointed manager in 2001. Within a year we were
top of the Championship and were promoted to the
Premiership for the first time.

In the season 2007-2008 Portsmouth finished in
the top four and for the first time ever European
football was coming to Fratton Park (I can but
dream)
