Petroleum natural gas are the remains of tiny
plants and animals that lived in seas and lakes.
11Coal is used in steam engines and steel mills.
12Oil is made into gasoline, diesel, heating fuel
asphalt.
13Natural gas is used for home/industrial heating
and cooking.
14Coal, Oil and natural gas are all burned to
produce electricity.
15Fossil Fuels are also used to make
chemicalscalled Petrochemicals.
16Petrochemicals are used for explosives, food
additives, medicines, pesticides, and plastics.
17Having a dependable source of fossil fuels is a
key factor for a countrys economic success.

- Hydroelectric power -moving water. Need to be
near water - Geothermaluse heat from earths interior to make
steam. Need to be in place with volcanoes or hot
springs

25Trade happens if one nation has something
another doesnt.
26Or if one nation can supply something cheaper
than the other country can produce.
