Mango Mangifera indica There may be more
than 1000 distinct varieties of mango in South
Asia. More mangoes are grown in India than
any other country. The dye Indian Yellow
used to be obtained from the urine of cows that
were fed on mango leaves. Its production was
banned in 1908.
