GRIPS Project Objective Allow a variety of
information sources to potentially trigger
execution of a crisis-management interaction
workflow when critical data is detected. GriSys
will combine GRID, P2P, mobile and Agent
Technologies, together with Semantic Web and
mobile communications, to realise a framework
that is distributed, real-time, stable,
autonomous, with some intelligence and adaptable,
without the need for external re-programming,re-co
nfiguring, or re-adjusting. It will communicate
and co-operate with people or each other, based
on a wellgrounded understanding of the objects,
events and processes in their environment, and
their own situation, competences and knowledge.
Work will result in demonstrator that operate
largely autonomously in demanding and open-ended
environments which call for a suitable mix of
capabilities for sensing, data analysis,
processing, control and acting and for
communication and co-operation with people or
machines or both. It could be integrated
high-level cognitive competencies for example,
for reasoning, planning and decision-making, and
for active environmental modelling. Main Tasks
Interpersonal communication tasks providing
personalised interactivity in real-world and
virtual environments, based on improved human
interaction modelling and understanding of
contextually-referred communication, through
autonomous adaptation by addressing user needs
and intentions. Real-time requirements and
systems modularity. Expected result  Grid-P2P
enabled stable crisis interaction System
TRANSLN Project Objective The main objective of
this project is to combine public and private
transportation and facilitate the access to any
relevant information in order to optimize the
whole transportation system of a specific
territory. Main Tasks Building an integrated
network able to provide any relevant information
for the public and private transportation. Design
of a new services to support and optimize the
public and private transport in a specific
areaDesign and evaluate the infrastructure to
access these services from a number of different
devices Expected result A prototype that
integrates real-time information from a variety
of public information sources including among
others (a) trains and bus transportation status,
(b) information about strikes, (c) real-time
traffic status, (d) on-going public works that
can impact transportation, (e) accidents, as well
as (f) information provided by the public .

PERSPECTIVE Project Objectives provide a digital
non-linear magazine to people attending to an
event (university lecture, visit to a museum,
etc), combining previously existing contents.
These narratives will be self-adapting, changing
the underlying multimedia content based on the
location a users devices is at and the context a
user is acting within. investigate the use of
advanced distributed techniques to support the
decentralized management of heterogeneous
repositories and sources of information
Distributed Self-adapting Catalogue Main Tasks
Content management and delivery of any rich media
type to any terminal device. Content discovery
and access to distributed heterogeneous
repositories. Expected Result Development of a
system to support specific use cases from the
education and cultural environment interactive
multimedia virtual classroom and augmented
experience in tourist visits and cultural events
(lectures, conferences, etc.)
FOLK2FOLK P2P Project Objective Creation of a
P2P based multimedia content distribution system
optimised considering content semantics and
social interactions between users. Main Tasks
Content and Social analysis, P2P
architecture. Expected result  Social profiling,
content semantics, P2P SITEC - Infomobility
Project Objective Definition of an Ambient
Intelligence Service Platform in the user
environment based on a city model that gathers
information from different sources dynamic
(sensor networks), static (geography model) and
from the user (user profile). The advanced urban
cognitive system will be able to infer social
behaviours from heterogeneous information. Main
Tasks Design and prototyping of the Ambient
Intelligence service Platform. Collaborate in the
