Dolphins in General

• The dolphin is a fast-swimming animal related to
  whales and porpoises.
• There are about 32 different species of dolphins.
• The most familiar being the bottled-nosed
  dolphin.
• These creatures are found in all seas.

Dolphins and Their Behavior/Food

• In one day dolphins eat an amount of food, mostly
  fish and squid, equal to 1/3 of their weight.
• Dolphins follow schools of fish varying in size.
• Like whales, dolphins breathe through a blowhole
  on the top of their backs

Dolphins and Their Sounds

• Dolphins use squeaking or whistle noises called
  clicks to talk.
• These clicks are short pulses of about 300 sounds
  per second.
• Echoes received at the area of the rear of the
  lower jaw.

• Did you know that dolphins can stay under water
  for over 2 hours or more?
• Dolphins also have an amazing jumping ability,
  they can jump very high.
• Dolphins are also used to entertain many people.
