2CEA History
- Founded in the first half of 1993
- since 1993, member of the International
Organization of Employers (IOE -Geneva) - since 1994, takes part in the activities of the
International Labor Organization (ILO Geneva) - since 1997, member of European Confederation of
Associations of Small and Medium Enterprises
(CEA-PME, Brussels) - since 1999, observer member of the Union of
Industrial and Employers' Confederations of
Europe (UNICE, Brussels). The status has been
changed to full membership in 2004, when Croatia
became the candidate for the membership in the
EU.

- Croatian Employers Association is a voluntary,
non-profitable independent employers association
protecting and promoting its members rights and
interests - Protection and promotion of member companies
rights and interests in the field of labor-social
legislation and competitiveness - Representation of member companies in relations
with State institutions, regional and local
authorities and trade unions,

- Chemical industry share was 8,11 , it ranked
second in the manufacturing industry following
the food industry - Share of employees in chemical industry amounts
to 5,1 - The biggest increase in chemical industry
registers the manufacture crop protection
products, industrial gases and in segment of
plastics processing leads the manufacture of
packing materials and other plastics products

Strategic Alliance of social partners at the
Chemical Industry level

protection of domestic producers against illegal
imports (February, June) Grey labour market in
Croatian industry - Support in projects and applications to
international programmes for boosting the
members competitiveness (USAID, CEI, FP6, PHARE) - Public relations a number of statements of the
Director in the media about the topics defined in
the Business Plan of CIA and about the projects
initiated by CIA - Constructing of the Croatian Office Furniture
Cluster (including CIA members)

- 12 membership increase in 2006, compared with
2005 - CIA aims to include 30 of the member companies
in the clusterization pilot projects of the
National Center for Clusters - Constructing of the Industrial Expertise Cluster
as the support to Chemical Industry through
creation of the network of institutes, technical
faculties and faculties of economics - Agreement on Social Sectoral Dialogue and
Strategic Partnership conclude the Agreement on
the level of Chemical Industry together with the
Trade Union of Energetics, Chemical and Non-metal
Industry of Croatia till October 2006

regulations in accordance with the needs of
member companies, until Croatia enters full EU
membership laws and regulations bills and
amendments - Establishing the program co-ordination,
Co-ordination for industrial strategy,
Co-ordination CRO REACH, Co-ordination for RD
and Co-ordination for renewable sources of energy
