• Installed hoist to service both cable lines.
• An operator received a hand contusion while the
  extrusion screw was manually lifted and put in
  place. The accident investigation indicated that
  we were manually handling too much weight in an
  area where it was difficult to maneuver.
  Installation of the hoist prevents this type of
  hand injury and also potential back injuries from
  manual lifting.

• Autoclave Door Improvement
• It was determined in a post accident
  investigation that the autoclave doors should
  have device installed that would lock the door in
  an open position while any maintenance work was
  being performed. Maintenance personnel Jim Moody
  and Jonathan Pillow designed a device that
  automatically secures the door when it is opened.

• Maintenance Fuel Storage
• FM Global issued a finding that elements of our
  flammable fluid storage in the Maintenance Dept.
  should be redesigned due to potential for
  flammable material to escape allowing for the
  spread of a fire.
• Engineering Staff developed and implemented plan
  to redesign the storage and relocate to the
  compressor room.

• Redesigned wrench used to tighten head on
  extrusion lines.
• Extrusion Operator received a minor contusion on
  elbow, after falling backwards when extension bar
  slipped off wrench
• Wrench was lengthened to provide a larger
  surface for the extension bar to fit over.

Cost per wrench - Approximately 30 of materials
and 1 hour of labor per wrench Cost of this
