We are excited to have Seth Godin as a guest star
at our WCBS North Fork Bank Small Business
Breakfast. Well all be smarter, and better for
it! You may not know his name but millions of
others do. When you come see him speak, chances
are youll not soon forget Seth Godin. He may be
one of the most inspiring and engaging marketing
experts out there today.
Cheaper is the last refuge of the person who's
not a very good marketer. Cheaper is easy and
cheaper is fast (but) Cheaper is a short term
hit, not a long term advantage. Cheaper doesn't
create loyalty, because the other guy can always
figure out how to be cheaper still, at least in
the short run. Even free isn't cheap enough to
win in the long run. Not if other people can
figure out how to match what you've got. So, if
you can't be cheaper, be better.

You may not know his name but millions of others
do. When you come see him speak, chances are

best selling author whos titles include All
Marketers are Liars, Unleashing the Idea Virus,
Permission Marketing and his latest title
Small is the New Big. Business Week Magazine
called him - "the Ultimate Entrepreneur for the
Information Age". Millions have read his books,
millions more keep track of the pulse of internet
marketing by reading his daily blog
(SethGodin.com). Its a must read and oft quoted.
Seth is a favorite guest of CNBCs Maria
Bartiromo. It all started with a company Seth
Godin helped found called YoYodyne Entertainment
and an idea called permission marketing. Yahoo
bought the company for millions in 1998 and Seth
has been out talking about his ideas ever
since. He markets himself as an agent of change.
He inspires audiences of business men and women
who are on the right track but are stuck on how
to move ahead, how to accomplish their goals.
Seth has described himself as fireworks in a
gas station. You provide the ideas, hell provide
the inspiration and stand back. Heres a recent
blog entry he wrote, answering a woman who was
angry that her bosses rejected the idea that they
lower prices at their resort to increase
