• Breaking the code of non-fiction books!

• Non-fiction books are found in their own section
  of the library.
• They are not mixed in with make believe, or
  fiction, books.

Just the facts!

• Non-fiction books have factual information about
  different subjects, such as dogs, space, sports
  or computers.

Rule Breakers!

• The rule breakers are fairy tales, poetry and
  tall tales. You find those in non-fiction, too!

Check the Address!

• Like fiction books, non-fiction books have an
  address.
• The address tells you where to find them in the
  library.

• Non-fiction books use numbers to keep them in
  order.
• The number is a clue to what the book is about.
• There are 10 categories of books.

• This number system is called the Dewey Decimal
  System.
• It was named for Mr. Melvil Dewey.
• Lets look at each category and its special
  numbers.
