• CCDSD-SOIS
• 2. OMG Space Domain Task Force
• Space professionals committed to greater
  interoperability, reduction in costs, schedule,
  and risk for space applications through increased
  space standardization.
• 3. AFRL PLUG PLAY
• AFRL is developing a system for building
  spacecraft rapidly based on plug-and-play (PnP)
  components.  Doing this requires unique software
  concepts to assist systems in automatic
  recognition of components and integrating them
  rapidly with applications.  Applicants will work
  withAFRL to develop and evolve novel software
  schemes to permit rapid spacecraft development
  based on extending some recently developed open
  tools aimed at this objective.

• General opinion - Standards can be a good thing
• Reality Standards force competing interests!
• Business (commercial) and agencies
  (non-commercial) have different goals and
  agendas. Competing business interest can hinder
  standards.
• CCSDS-SOIS not broadly accepted in the USA
• ESA imposes flight software standards (PUS, SOIS,
  XTCE)
• USA FSW is driven by varying interests
  business, cultural etc.
