you can enter it here.
To do a general search use section B and click on
General Search.

For Part B, select the one that best represents
the client.
Enter the Zip Code of the person
Here is where you identify if the client has
received an award letter for additional help.

We are not going to be saving any client
information so to continue select Choose a Drug
Plan Type.

To search for just a prescription drug plan, in
section C, select Search for Medicare
Prescription Drug Plans

Section A will only show a list of all of the
plans available in the area of the client.
To narrow the search more for the client, you can
enter their medications through Section B.

Here you will type in the name of the medications
of the person. You can just type in the first few
letters and it will provide a drop-down list of
drugs.

Select the drug that fits what the person is
taking then click Add Selected Drug to My List

This is an important step If the person does not
want generic drugs, you must UNCLICK this box
To continue with the drugs you entered, click
Continue with Selected Drugs

Use the drop-down buttons to change the dosages
of the drugs.

If you need to change the quantity per month,
change the quantity to what the client is taking
and then click the Update Dosage/Quantity
button to save your changes.

Once you have updated all of the drugs, you want
to click Continue with Selected Drugs
If the client wants to choose a specific pharmacy
you can narrow the search here.

These are the top least expensive plans for this
scenario without choosing a specific pharmacy.

If your client wants to select a certain
pharmacy, click yes. Otherwise, click no.

Tell the client that by choosing a specific
pharmacy, the total cost can increase.

selected pharmacies. You can see the pharmacies
you selected at the bottom of the page.

Click on the top 3 least expensive plans, then
click Compare up to 3 Plans.

This is the page that will come up. You can print
this for the client to take home with them. It
has all of the necessary information on it for
them to choose a plan. If you do not have a
printer available, use the Comparing Options
Worksheet to enter the important information.

The bottom of the page shows what category each
of the clients medications fall under.

To show the client which pharmacies participate
in the plan, click on the link that is underlined.

with this plan. You can get a printable version
just like before.

The easiest way to search for MA-PDs (HMO) is in
Part C by clicking the box to include Medicare
Advantage and Other Medicare Health Plans.
Everything else is the same.

  • When you have given the client their top 3 plans,
    also give them the Enrollment Information Form
  • This form has all of the information on it that
    the client will need to enroll in their chosen
    plan

directions on the site.

  • Only use the patients medical information to aid
    in finding an appropriate PDP.
