• Run POST
• Check CMOS - System Setup
• Look for the bootstrap loader
• Load IBMBIO.COM
• Load IBMDOS.COM
• Interpret Config.Sys -
• Load device drivers

• Load Command.com-
• Interpret user commands
• Execute Autoexec.bat
• Contains commands that customize your system

Booting the System

• IBMBIO.COM must be the first directory entry in
  the root directory of the disk.
• IBMDOS.COM must be the second entry in the root
  directory.
• IBMBIO.COM must be the first physical file on the
  disk.
