Georgia OKeeffe
Alfred Stieglitz
  • She lived from November 15, 1887 until March 6,
    1984.
  • She was born in the town of Sun Prairie, Wis.
  • Her family were from Ireland and Hungary, and
    were farmers.
  • She was a painter, and married a man by the name
    of Alfred Stieglitz
  • He was a painter who lived from January 1, 1864
    to July 13, 1946 in Hoboken, New York.
  • He was the oldest of six kids in his family.
  • He married the painter, Georgia OKeeffe.
  • Before being married to OKeeffe, he was married
    to Emmeline Obermeyer and had one kid named
    Kitty.

Why They Are Artists
  • Georgia OKeeffe does artwork for a living
    because she wants to express sensations and to
    depict where shes been, and things shes seen.
    She is leaving a record of her life behind, for
    us to see how she lived.

Alfred Stieglitz started his life of an artist as
one of the first modern artists. The U.S. was
going through a lot of change, and he
photographed all the change. He photographed all
the new buildings, and all new changes.
