TURN Program Mission
  • Increase capacity for providing tobacco cessation
    treatment in the Colorado substance abuse
    treatment community.

Goal I
  • Educate Signal treatment staff / clients about
    health impacts of tobacco role of tobacco
    cessation in sustaining recovery.
  • Request marketing assistance from State Tobacco
    Education Prevention Partnership (STEPP)
  • Implement stages-of-change informational
    campaign
  • 3. Create TURN website
  • 4. Create and test educational materials
  • 5. Educate clinical staff about tobacco
  • cessation treatment.

Goal II
  • Promote policy interventions to integrate
    tobacco cessation services in Signal provider
    network.
  • 1. Create Signal provider workgroup to
  • work on tobacco
    policies
  • 2. Analyze Signal policies for best
    practices and gaps
  • 3. Disseminate findings of policy
    analysis
  • 4. Identify strategies to promote adoption of
    best practice policies
  • 5. Adopt review process for policies and document
    changes during project period.

    employees clients.

    cessation substance abuse treatment
  • Develop Memoranda of Agreement with key
    organizations to fund and disseminate
  • Promote statewide dissemination of
  • evidence-based strategies.
