What is Green? Green is often used as a
synonym for environmental or ecological,
especially as it relates to products and
activities aimed at minimizing damage to our
planet. Further Green is focused on a variety of
issues, including increasing energy efficiency,
improving air and water quality, and sustaining
natural resources.

What is a Green Building?
Green Jobs 101 ?
The process of green building incorporates
environmental considerations into every phase of
the home building process. That means that during
the design, construction, and operation of a
home, energy and water efficiency. Green
building is the practice of creating structures
and using processes that are environmentally
responsible and resource-efficient throughout a
building's life-cycle from site selection to
design, construction, operation, maintenance,
renovation, and deconstruction.

What is a Green Job? Van Jones in his book The
Green-Collar Economy, states  "Like traditional
blue-collar jobs, green-collar jobs range from
low-skill, entry-level positions to high-skill,
higher-paid jobs and include opportunities for
advancement in both skills and wages.  Think of
them as the 2.0 version of old-fashioned
blue-collar jobs, upgraded to respect the Earth
and meet the environmental challenges of today."
A job in the RE Renewable Energy industry
consists of an employee working in one of the
major RE technologies A job in the EE Energy
Efficiency industry consists of an employee
working in a sector that is entirely part of the
EE industry, such as an energy service company
(ESCO) or the recycling, reuse, and
remanufacturing sector.  It also includes within
the EE sector, such as household appliances, HVAC
systems, construction, automobile manufacturing,
and others.

• Auditor Assesses an eligible dwelling for
  potential weatherization services
• Visually inspects building shell and mechanical
  systems
• Conducts diagnostic, health, and safety tests
• Uses computerized energy audit or priority list
  to select cost-effective measures
• Prepares work orders to ensure the most
  appropriate measures are installed properly
• Crew/Installer Installs weatherization measures
  (can be contractor or crew)
• Crew Chief Supervises crew of installers and
  directs their efforts
• Quality Control Inspector Verifies the proper
  selection, installation, and effectiveness of
  measures
• Reviews documentation

  green jobs,

  more than 4.2 million jobs.
• The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was
  created to
• Save and create more than 3.5 million jobs over
  the next two years

  eventually double domestic renewable energy
