hiring them in order to apply for a SIN at a

SIN contd.
  • Sometimes International students are offered
employment after completing their studies and
require proof that they will graduate in order to
apply for a post-graduate work permit. We may
need your assistance in these cases.

Health Insurance for International Students
  • International students are provided health
insurance coverage automatically by the IEC if
    they are registered full-time.
  • The health Insurance coverage given to
    International students mimics OHIP.
  • If International students are not studying, their
    health insurance is cancelled.

8
Academic support
  • International students sometimes come to our
office first when experiencing difficulties with
    their program.
  • We may refer the students to you, to counselling
or to Peer tutoring services depending on the
    problem.

9
Other services offered
  • Our office acts as a safe environment for the
student. We sometimes just listen, offer
comfort, and try to be as helpful as possible to
    the International student.
  • International fees are much higher than Canadian
fees because they are not eligible for funding
    they are not tax payers.
