Overview
  • APQP 3.1 Pan Brand Status report, is made up of
    two main sections.
  • The Data file, containing all the data for the
    APQP.
  • A program that lets you create, modify and view
    the data.

    Brand. Key features.
  • Elements The total number of elements remains at
    23. (plus 2 Volvo unique Elements Logistics and
    Software).
  • Element Expectations definitions enhanced and
    the APQP reporting format now includes the
    facility to add GYR ratings for individual
    expectations.
  • Focus Elements all elements regarded as of
    equal importance therefore specific focus
    elements are not identified.
  • Timing element (and expectations) timing
    aligned with FPDS milestones.
  • GYR (Green, yellow or red) rating definitions
    clarified to eliminate ambiguity.
  • Resolution / recovery plan CCAR format included
    for recording actions, responsibilities and
    timing.
  • All new standardised "Pan Brand" XL reporting

APQP 3.1Pan Brand has two parts
The Excel Program.
This acts like a program in which you can create,
edit or view an APQP report.
The Data File.
This holds the raw information for an APQP
report, and is small enough to email. Using the
program it can then be reassembled into a full
APQP report.

Installing the Program
  • This topic is covered in a separate file entitled
  • How to set up APQP Reporter.

Opening the program for the first time
  • You should find the program on your computer's C
    Drive in the directory C\APQP 3_1 Pan Brand
    Reports.
  • The program is called APQP 3_1 Pan Brand Reporter
    V6.xls
  • Double click on the icon to open.
  • Please note the first time it opens it may take a
    while, depending on the speed of your computer.

  • Also please note you must have macros enabled
    for the APQP to work.
  • To enable macros, when Excel starts it should ask
    you if you want to enable or disable macros,
    please select enable.
  • If this option box does not appear and all you
    see is a message you must enable macros to use
    APQP3.1 please follow the procedure on the next
    slide.

  • Open a blank work book .using the tools menus
    select the security option.

  • In the security box select a setting of Medium.
  • This will then let you choose which files you let
    the macros run on.
  • For the APQP 3.1 Pan Brand to work you must have
    the macros enabled.

Pop up menus or User forms
  • Throughout the APQP there are user forms also
    known as pop-ups these are to assist the person
    filling in the data to put the correct input in.
  • There are two types of pop up
  • A user form, shown as a grey box with options to
    select or questions to answer
  • A yellow rectangle that contains instructions for
    filling in the cell you clicked on.

Locked Cells
  • Sometimes when cells are clicked on a message box
    will appear, similar to the one below. This
    denotes that the cell is protected, and you
    should not attempt to enter data into the cell.
  • Often the data for these cells will be
    automatically entered from other parts of the
    document.

  • Save
  • This button can be used to save the document as
    the current file name, to save as a different
    name please use the Save As function in Excel.
  • Create data file
  • This button is used to create the data file, for
    more information please see the Create data file
    section
  • Reload data file
  • This button is used to reload a data file, for
    more information please see the Reload data file
    section

Buttons Tool Bar
  • Clear form
  • This button removes all data entered into the
    form.
  • Cell Fits
  • This button adjusts the row height and column
    width to suit the data entered
  • RYG info
  • This button shows the definitions for the Red
    -Yellow Green ratings.

  • This will return you summary page.
  • Previous element
  • This will take you back to the previous element
    sheet
  • Next element
  • This will take you forward to the next element.

Creating a data file
  • The APQP program has the ability to create a
    small file containing all the data that is in the
    APQP, this file can then be emailed or put on
    disk.
  • The data files can be reassembled into the
    complete document. (see the section entitled
    Reloading a data file).

Creating a data file 2
  • To create the data file from a APQP
  • Open the APQP document you wish to convert.
  • Go to the summary page
  • In the top left hand corner you will see a button
    entitled Create Data File, click on this
    button.
  • This will bring up a User for as shown on the
    next slide.

  • The following information is required
  • A) Supplier Code
  • B) The first letter of each brand that is
    participating
  • C) The lead program
  • D) The lead part description
  • E) And the date code.
  • F) Show the file name for the data file, and the
    place it will be saved.

Loading / Reloading a data file
  • To reload a data file in an APQP report
  • Open the APQP program
  • Go to the summary page
  • In the top left hand corner you will see a button
    entitled Re-Load a Data File, click on this
    button.
  • This will bring up a User form to select the data
    file you wish to re-load.

Saving your APQP Status Report.
  • There are a number of ways to save your document
  • Use the save button on the button bar.
  • This will save using the current file name
  • Use the save as option in the File menu.
  • This will let you choose the file name and
    location you put the file
  • Use the data file.
  • This method take up the smallest amount of
    memory, but retains all the data. The file name
    is set up by the program.

Sending your report to someone.
  • The only file you should send to the customer is
    the data file. It is important that you do not
    change the name of the document created by the
    Reporter
