What is Telecommunications?

• Process of transmitting information over a
  distance by an electrical or electromagnetic
  system. This information may take the form of
  voice, data, image, or message. Electromagnetic
  transmission systems include telephone lines,
  cables, microwaves, satellites and light beams.
