4Work Experience is a Great Opportunity for You to
- Experience the world of work, first hand.
- Begin to understand the differences between
school and work. - Try out things that you may find interesting and
enjoyable, even if they are not necessarily
linked to a specific career aim.
5- Work alongside people who have chosen to work in
a specific area. - Gain a good work-related report that will be good
for putting in your Progress File, and may even
lead to an offer of part-time/holiday work.
6- Most students really enjoy their work experience,
so remember to make the most of all the
opportunities it gives you. - What Will be Expected of You

10- How to Prepare for Work Experience
- Research all the careers information you can and
learn about different jobs and careers. - This will help you to get some ideas and think
about what type of work experience you would like
to do. - Have a couple of ideas just in case.
- Some work placements may be popular and you may
not get your first choice.
11- Talk to your Careers Adviser, Amanda Jewell or
your Work Related Learning Coordinator,Miss
Horner, to find out what work experience
opportunities your school can offer. - If your school cannot provide a placement speak
to family and friends - or check with local companies or organisations.

12- Remember to check with your school, to see if the
placement will be suitable for you. - Before you start get agreed what you will be
expected to do, the hours you will work and who
you will report to.
13- In PSHCE you will be following a programme of
Work Experience - Preparation over the first half of next term.
- The programme will include the following
components - CV, letter and Email writing
- Interview technique
- How to dress appropriately for the workplace
- Conduct in the workplace
- Health and Safety in the workplace
- Time management and organisation

launch Assembly on the 17th and as part of your
Work Experience Programme in Term 3 and
