Title: Session 3: Cross-curriculum ? ICT ? Making Materials
1Session 3 Cross-curriculum ? ICT ? Making
Materials
Making MaterialsThis is something again for
revision or practising language learnt, either at
home or in class, if computers are available.
Students will enjoy making things for themselves
but also for others.
Websites1. We have already seen www.vokabel.com
2. To make online flashcards, there are lots of
options but a lot of them charge. Perhaps not
the most exciting (but at least free and very
easy!) website for this is www.scholastic.com/kids
/homework/flashcards.htm . It is an American
site but it is very easy to input the words and
then use them. Students can be encouraged to be
resourceful themselves and might come up with
different options. They could be encouraged to
share their find with the rest of the class too.
Using PowerPoint1. PowerPoint can also be used
for flashcards of a sort if you think about it.
(see the document Electronic Flashcards in your
file) Students can do this instead of the
teachers obviously.2. Making books in
PowerPoint is also something that students can do
for younger students. If you have good links
with your primary schools then they could find a
very willing audience there.
