Allison Sanders Georgia Institute of
Technology Educational Background In the Fall
2009, I will be in my fourth year (Senior) at
Georgia Tech, majoring in Materials Science
Engineering. Personal Background I was born in
Greenwood, South Carolina, US and have spent
most of my life residing in Gulf Breeze,
Florida, US. For the past three years of
my life, I have being going to school in
Atlanta, Georgia, US. During high school, I
took four years of Latin. Although this was
helpful for the etymology of words, it is not a
foreign language. Currently, I am not fluent in
any foreign language, but I am hoping to learn
German. This is my first time working abroad,
but I am very excited to take part in this
internship program.

Internship Details During the summer 2009, I
will be working in Hanover, Germany , from May
19th to August 8th. The project I will be
working on concerns rubber compounding for tires.
A combination of research and laboratory
testing will be involved to improve tire data.
My major is very broad, and this internship
enables me to venture outside of my normal
electrical and nanoparticles studies and focus on
another subject of interest. Interesting
Fact I am actually a person with many
interests, and consider myself very well-rounded.
Although my major involves mostly math and
science, I often like to branch outside of this
and become active in the studies of art and
english. In fact, my favorite class at Georgia
Tech so far has been my modernism literature
class.
