Background

• Statistics Sweden has calculated indicators for
  the populations access to grocery stores 2001 and
  2006, using the national road network outside
  localities and bird distance inside.  
• Four distances were used
• 300m, 600m (inside localities)
• 1500m, 10000m (outside localities)

• Grocery stores databases, 2001, 2006
• Population on real estate level, 2001, 2006
• (approx. 2 million real estates)
• Swedish national road network, 2006

Method

• Connecting population on real estate level with
  grocery stores through the national road
  database.
• Sweden was divided into 22 partially overlapping
  regions to lessen the computer time.

Conclusions

• Its possible to do national analysis with large
  data amounts.
