Motivation

• The Mobile IPv6 base specification RFC-3775
  does not provide semantics for sending and
  receiving explicit Notification messages.
• There are many situations where there is a need
  for a mobility agent to send an event to some
  other mobility agent and there is a need for a
  generic message that has the notification related
  properties.
• Examples
• Home Agent maintenance specific events
• Load balancing specific events
• Pre-Paid Time expiry event
