The goal of our project is to create the first
prototype of the frequency shifted ultra wideband
radio scheme developed here at UMass. A
successful design will contain everything that it
takes to send data at a rate of appx. 10 kbs a
distance of 10 feet, including antennas,
synchronization circuitry, and compact packaging.

• Frequency-Shifted UWB concept proven by building
  first prototype using modular components
• Antenna designed, and first prototype built for
  testing
• Sync concept designed
• Impulse generator designed and built
• Winter Break
• Detailed circuitry designed for all aspects of
  the prototype
• Suitable SMD parts chosen
• PCB designed and ordered
• This Semester
• Assemble and test PCB
• Build 2 antenna prototypes
• Complete sync
• Once happy with all aspects of the project,
  design the completed radio on a compact PCB
