RSM2000 Product Overview
The RSM2000 Belt Tension Meter provides a very
accurate and easy method of tensioning belts
RSM2000 can be used to tension all types of
belts (V, Poly-v, Synchronous, etc.)
RSM2000 can be used with any material (rubber,
polyurethane, etc.)
The meters measurement range is 10 to 400 Hz

A highly sensitive capacitive sensor is included
with the RSM2000
The RSM2000 meter, along with the accessories,
ships in a convenient plastic carry case.
The device works on a 9V block battery (included
with RSM2000).

Sensor Details

• Device operation is based on belt vibration
• The capacitive sensor picks up belt span
  vibration.
• The microcontroller-based RSM2000 device then
  calculates the belt tension (in Newtons or Hertz)
  by numerically filtering the Eigen frequency of
  the belt.

Theory of Operation
RSM2000 sensor detects belt span vibration and
calculates tension based on this vibration.

Measurement Procedure
1. Enter Belt Specific Mass in grams/meter 2.
Enter Span Length in mm 3. Enter device
amplification (1or 2) 4. Position sensor next to
belt 5. Press Start 6. ! TING ! - Provide
slight impact to belt 7. Device reads 1)
Frequency in HZ 2) Belt Strand Tension in Newtons
NoteIf all you want is belt vibrating frequency,
you do not need to input mass and span length
