  • AERA proposals are given a 1 to 5 rating for the
    following 10 criteria
  • 1. Choice of problem/topic
  • 2. Theoretical framework
  • 3. Methods
  • 4. Data Sources
  • 5. Conclusions/interpretations
  • 6. Quality of Writing/Organization
  • 7. Contribution to the field
  • 8. Membership appeal
  • 9. Would you (reviewer) attend?
  • 10. Overall recommendation
  • 1 is always the least favorable response, 5 is
    the most favorable response.
  • You must also write a paragraph for each

  • Each person is to review three other proposals.
  • Go to the people page and review the research
    proposals for the next three people after you
  • Turn in these reviews to Punya Matt (by email)
    by the next class.
  • Remember you have to provide written feedback on
    each point (in addition to the numeric score).
  • Try to make the feedback as constructive as
    possible (in this regard this review is different
    from regular AERA review.
