  readily accessible mentors,
• Issues of transport plus associated costs

• Mentees will be aged 18-25 and not in employment
  (if under 18 mentors would need to be police
  checked - at a cost)
• University elite establishment only admits
  those able to benefit from Higher Education
• Little/no experience with people with Learning
  Disabilities or significant mental health
  difficulties in University.

Recruiting Mentors

• Identify gatekeepers
• CEO of local Chamber of commerce on projects
  National Advisory Group
• Seek out stakeholders
• Presentations to breakfast meetings of employers,
  organised by Chamber
• Follow up meetings with those interested
• Remploy project - collaboration

Recruiting mentees

• Working with local Job Centre Plus
• Changes to remit - taken on by Remploy
• Aged 18-35 years
• Disabled, as defined under the Disability
  Discrimination Act (DDA), so could include
  dyslexia
• Not included Learning Disabilities significant
  Mental Health Difficulties
