(from comprehensive advising survey conducted in
spring 2007)
  • 3,087 respondents
  • all schools/colleges represented
  • freshmen senior class standing represented

Summary of Data
  • 84.2 reported having contact with their advisor
    1 or more times in the fall 2006 semester (2,603
    responded)
  • 49 rated the overall quality of advising as
    excellent or good 22 reported the quality as
    poor (2,605 responded)
  • The data reflected some major gaps in student
    expectations versus student experiences related
    to advising (handouts)

  • Career Counseling1,500 students annually15 are
    referred from faculty and/or advisors or 225
    students
  • Walk-in Career Advising2,000 students
