  • We are off to a terrific start and I am looking
    forward to working with your child.

All About Me
  • My background
  • I was born and raised in Puerto Rico.
  • I attended University of Puerto Rico, Towson
    State University, MD, and CAL State University,
    Fullerton, CA.
  • My experience
  • Ive been teaching for 16 years. Ive taught 10
    years in CA (LA and Long Beach Unified) , and 6
    years here at Joseph Brown.
  • I have also taught third and fourth grades, but
    Kindergarten is my favorite.
  • My philosophy of education

Daily Schedule
  • 800-830a.m. Arrive, unpack, journals,
    announcements, pledge, songs
  • 830- 1000 a.m. Literacy Block
  • 1000-1040a.m. Bathroom/water break
  • Morning Review/Story Time
  • 1045-1110 a.m. Lunch
  • 1110-1210 noon Calendar/Math
  • 1210-1240 p.m. Recess
  • 1240-125 p.m. Specials -Technology
    (Monday), PE (Tuesday), Music (Wednesday),
    Library (Thursday), Guidance (Friday)
  • 125-200 p.m. Snacks, Centers
  • 200-245 p.m. Rest Time
  • 245-330 p.m. Pack up/ afternoon
    Announcements/Dismissal

Classroom Community
  • Our classroom is a community. In our community,
    we have rules to help us get along with each
    other.
  • Our class rules are
  • Be kind
  • Raise your hand to speak. Help others. Put
    things back in their place. Read quietly. Wait in
    line for your turn.
  • Be busy
  • Stay on task. Get your work done on time.
    Participate in class. Ask questions if you do not
    understand what to do. Pay attention when the
    teacher is talking.
  • Be neat
  • Keep your area clean! Keep your work in your
    area. Keep your supplies together, in their
    place. Clean hands, clean papers! Pick up any
    left over papers on and under your table.
  • Be safe
  • No hitting, kicking, pushing, punching, shoving,
    or name calling! Dont rush to be the first one
    in line! Be very careful when using scissors and
    other supplies! A very loud and noisy classroom
    is not a safe place. Use your indoor voices.

Folders
  • Please go over your childs folder every night.
  • Left side keep, right side return.
  • Initial behavior chart daily. If not on green,
    please discuss it with your child and send a note
    to teacher.
  • Check our calendar often for any changes in
    upcoming events, holidays, and student star of
    the week.

Snacks
  • Please send a snack for your child every day.
  • We prefer a healthy snack.
  • We will have ice cream on Fridays (.50).
  • Snack time 125 p.m.
  • Send all money in separate envelopes. Please
    label each envelope with childs name, teachers
    name, purpose, and amount.
