Sir Isaac Newton was born in England on a farm in
Lincolnshire on 4th January 1643. It was before
they started using the Gregorian calendar so it
was on Christmas Day in his time.

He was a Physicist, Mathematician, Astronomer,
Natural Philosopher, Alchemist and Theologian.
His ideas showed that the Earth moves around the
sun not the other way around.
He built the first reflecting telescope. He was
the first to break white light into all its
colours with a prism. He also studied the speed
of sound.

Sir Isaac Newton died on the 31 of March 1727 at
the age of 84. He is buried at Westminster Abby
in London.
He is still considered to have contributed the
most to science along with Albert Einstein but he
was more than 200 years earlier.
