Background

• Campus Nieuw West (CNW) initiated by Local
  Government and Chamber of Commerce of Amsterdam
• Amsterdam Nieuw West Amsterdams most deprived
  and poorest neighbourhood, currently under a huge
  (re) construction effort
• CNW facilitates the start of inspiring projects
  linking youth between 8 16 in Amsterdam New West
  to companies, work and professional environments.

• 27 of the Amsterdam youth between 0 19
• High number of (longterm) unemployed
• Low average level of education
• 50 of all houses rebuild or renovated

• Create new perspectives for youth in Nieuw West
• Unlock economic potential of Nieuw West
• Strengthen social infrastructure
• Create links between youth and employers

How we work matchmaker

• Matching projects, employers, schools and
  institutions in order to link employed people to
  youth in a variety of projects.
• Selecting existing projects to start in New West
  and initiating new projects
• Building a network of interested parties both
  profit and not for profit businesses, schools
  and (local) government.
• Projects in the field of employment, sports and
  culture

Campus Organisation

• Program bureau selects and matches projects with
  employers and vice versa, builds up knowledge and
  a large network.
• Five (financial) founders
• So far 9 members supporting the Campus

• 1.200 participants in projects in 2004
• 6 projects started
• 6 projects to start before end of 2005
• 12 projects under consideration
