Classroom Guidelines

• Be on time and ready to work
• Respect one another
• Respect the safety and cleanliness of the room
• Treat equipment with respect
• Speak in turn and at reasonable levels
• Stay on task and work cooperatively
• Use resources wisely

Tests Projects

• See Review Sheets Project guidelines
• Late projects lose an automatic 30 (absence
  excepted)
• Making up tests
• Tests must be made up within a week
• Tests are sent home in a sealed envelope with
  directions for adult supervision
• Any test with a grade of D or below can be
  re-taken within a week to earn a 70

Composition Book

• Needed in class daily
• Guidelines rubric pasted in CB
• Graded 2-3 times/semester
• Master copy of CB notes available at the front of
  class
• You can help by reviewing spelling and grammar in
  the CB

Homework

• Monthly HW grades are based on percentage
  completed on time
• Late HW does not count as on time
• absence being the only exception on the
  initiative of the student!!
• Quality of the HW content will be assessed in the
  Comp Book grade or via performance on Tests
  Projects

Lab Grade

• Assesses Behavior
• See rubric in CB
• Positive behavior rewarded with Big Bucks
• Big Bucks are redeemable at a fabulous
  white-elephant style auction at the end of each
  semester

Absence

• Making up for absence is a student responsibility
• Miss Joi will not prompt students during class
• Make up work
• Accepted only within a week of absence
• Not accepted during Art, in the halls, in the
  office, and so on
• See HW Web Calendar to catch up
• Advanced work for vacations will not be provided

Science Fair

• Look for the Science Fair Brochure Class
  Guidelines
• In class work time is not provided
• The scientific method is modeled at the beginning
  of the year
• Students are encouraged to start early!!
• Parent volunteers needed!!
• Science background not necessary to contribute!!

SARTScience Art Relaxation Time

• Open daily for lunch
• Science art supplies available
• Good time to clarify or continue working on HW
  and other projects
• Good time to catch up after absence
