• Nicole as an Athlete
• I have been competing in athletics for 16 years.
  During that time I have competed in local,
  state, national and international competition. I
  have been 2 World Cerebral Palsy Games, 2001 in
  Nottingham and in 2005 Connecticut. The biggest
  achievement for was been selected for the FESPIC
  Team last year.

• Athletics Influence Nicole's Education and Career
  Choice
• I remember my first trip to Brisbane for the
  Australian Cerebral Palsy Games, our motel had
  just changed hands and they were not making meals
  for us. This lady, who was in a wheelchair, was
  pushing around the kitchen pot in her lap making
  us dinner. From there on I knew that I too
  wanted to help others like myself in sport.
• I went to the Gordon to do Certificate 4 and
  Diploma in Sports and Recreation. I also have
  level \athletics and the coaching athletes with a
  disability coaching courses. This has enabled me
  to coach two athletes with a disability. Now I
  am working at Leisure Networks, organizing
  sporting activities in the Fitness and Nurition
  Program. I have recently been employed at
  Yorralla in the Sports and Recreation Department
  as a leisure worker.

• Being a Member of Geelong Guild
• Geelong Guild and the Geelong Athletics has been
  very accepting and welcoming to me. There has
  been a number of Athletes with a Disability
  joining the club or other clubs of Geelong
  Athletics. I have always been allowed to do a
  standing start as I can not do block starts and
  it is not necessary to do block starts in
  disability classification. I have been involved
  in relays as first or last runner when I have
  been needed. This year I have made a commitment
  to being on both the Geelong Guild committee and
  the Century celebration committee. To me serving
  on theses committees and coaching athletes that
  in turn joined the club is my way of putting
  something back to the club, which has allowed me
  to compete and so much in my life.
