Club Forums
  • To enable clubs to work together to provide
    better quality sports provision for the local
    community
  • Support to clubs with localised training,
    accreditation, funding, infrastructure,
    club-school links
  • 7 Club Forums, over 90 clubs attending

Commuted Sums
  • For projects that promote outdoor play and
    recreation
  • 2,012,500 spent on 83 schemes
  • 1,397,696 monies received
  • 1,541,905 sums not yet been received
  • Completed schemes include outdoor exercise
    equipment at Leven, new play equipment at
    Rawcliffe Bridge and a MUGA in Hessle (including
    CCTV and lighting)

Volunteering
  • Aim to increase no. of volunteers in sport
    currently 4.7 (national average)
  • Links with ERVAS, V Team, Step into Sport
    programme
  • Working with clubs to develop their volunteering
    base recruitment, policies etc
  • Programme of SPDS Volunteer opportunities

    Weight Management programmes

    sites across ER

  • Developing programmes childhood obesity, buggy
    burning etc

Working in Schools
  • Schools and Young People Team
  • Advice and support service to all East Riding
    schools on PE and sport
  • Improve quality of teaching and learning
  • Increase participation in physical activity
  • Promote community use of school sites

  • New national programme Approx 150k into ER in
    next 3 years
  • 10 week activity programmes targeting age 11-19
    Semi Sporty types
  • Year 1 to date Twilight Football, cheerleading,
    outdoor pursuits, rock climbing, netball, BMX
  • Partnership approach SSPs, Police, Extended
    Schools, NGBs, etc

Positive Futures
  • 10-19 year olds
  • Young people who are socially marginalised and
    involved in substance misuse and antisocial
    behaviour
  • 834 young people in 08/09
  • 19 different schemes

  • 4 CSCs funded through Sport England, ERYC, HSP,
    Extended Schools, South Hunsley SSP, Tribune
    Trust
  • Specialising in healthy lifestyles, disability,
    street sports, outdoor pursuits
  • 13,816 participants in 07/08
  • Disability day centres, village hall activities,
    migrant/traveller sports sessions, Allerthorpe
    links
  • 2 new CSCs direct result of strategy rural
    and coastal
  • Beach activities, village halls, informal womens
    sport activities linked to leisure sites
  • Particular focus on older people
